A. Main Ideas
The current chief of staff, Bill Daley, is stepping down from his position.  He is in charge of White House staff and operations, and serves as an adviser to the president.  Daley became chief of staff under President Obama last year, succeeding Emanuel.  Daley wishes to spend more time with his family, and believes that the administration will be better off without him.  It is believed that Daley’s relations with Democratic legislators is strained.  Daley will serve through the end of the month (January), and then will be replaced by Jack Lew (current White House budget director).
B. Conclusion
The current chief of staff is stepping down, so that means a change in leadership.  This means that any current projects or processes that are being run right now could change when the new chief of staff takes office.  This could also affect how well the members of the government communicate and work together.
Opinion:
This is a big change in the government, and it could disrupt current processes.  In my opinion, Bill Daley should have stayed until the next election time.  He is leaving in the middle of things, and leaving many things unfinished.
