Recently the California NCDA put new car emission laws into effect. The laws state that by the year 2025 one in seven cars must be zero emission vehicles. The plan that goes along with these laws is to reduce the emissions in the state by 75% with the help of these zero emission cars. A number of auto manufacturers have stated that they are going to help support these new laws and plans that have been implemented, these include Ford, GM and Nissan among others. A number of states have adopted the california laws and implemented them into there own states, including Washington, New York and another 12 states. these laws have been made in the response of the fear of global warming and depletion of the ozone layer. These laws should help with the air quality of California in the long run and make the state that much more of a leader in eco friendliness.

ReplyDeleteLaws like these make no sense as they look too far forward and make too bod of predictions to even have a chance of being achieved. If I recall correctly, the govenator had some kind of similar proposal with hybrid cars and it failed miserably. California needs to stop putting silly legislation through the government.
ReplyDeleteThis law is a very necessary one. Although 75 percent is a lofty goal, setting high goals is always bette then setting low ones. It is surprising that big corporations are willing to do this though. Hopefully this well achieve its intended goal and actually improve the quality of the air here.
ReplyDeleteThis law could be very substantial to our living in California. Reducing emissions by 75% reduces California's footprint, and stops unwanted pollution into our atmosphere. Hopefully by the year 2025, everyone on this planet has a zero emission car, so we can stop from the earth flooding from ice cap melting.
